Dr. Dodds and members of the Renew Family Dental team kicked off the upcoming Christmas season by taking part in the 2017 Art Van Santa Parade through downtown Grand Rapids! The theme for this year’s parade was a “A Very Merry Mitten” and the streets of Grand Rapids were filled with local marching bands, carolers, and local performers as thousands of parade-goers watched on!
Dr VanderLinde and Rhonda volunteered at the Michigan Dental Association Foundation's Mission of Mercy, held in Warren MI. 1,200 volunteers provided $1 Million in oral health care at no charge to 1,249 patients.
The entire staff traveled to Washington DC for the 2015 American Dental Association meeting. We attended classes, participated in round table discussions, talked with suppliers about new products and ate, a lot. There is also a dental museum (who knew) in Baltimore that was of great interest to us all. A trip to the Baltimore Aquarium proved almost too many teeth for Dr. VanderLinde!
October was a great month to travel to Bangkok Thailand. Dr. VanderLinde met with other dentists from around the world at the FDI 2015 World Dental Congress.
In October, Dr VanderLinde and Rhonda traveled to Honduras to provide dental care. They traveled with The Luke Society and helped to treat over 1,200 patients in the week they were there. If you would like more information regarding this trip and the mission behind it, follow this link: www.lukesociety.org. There are also several pictures of their trip on our facebook page.
Dr. VanderLinde and Rhonda traveled to Ferris State College to participate in the Michigan Dental Association's Mission of Mercy. Health care workers provided dental care free of charge to over 855 patients. This is a great opportunity to give back to the residents of Michigan. Dr. VanderLinde has done this in years past and looks forward to the fast paced action and interaction of the day.
On October 30, 2013 the American College of Dentists accepted into Fellowship, Donald J VanderLinde Jr., DDS. This is an honor bestowed upon Dentists “to elevate the standard of dentistry, to encourage graduate study, and to grant Fellowship to those who have done meritorious work”.
The American College of Dentists was founded August 20, 1920 by a group of visionary leaders who believe dentistry must look beyond today and plan for the future. The College is comprised of dentists who have demonstrated leadership and made exceptional contributions to dentistry, the dental profession, and society. Less than 3.5% of dentists are invited to be members.
Throughout its existence, the College has undertaken and supported numerous initiations to enhance the quality of dental care and the profession’s service to society. Most notably, the American College of Dentists has come to epitomize ethics and professionalism in dentistry.
It is a great honor to be accepted as a Fellow into the American College of Dentists. Congratulations to Dr. VanderLinde for achieving this milestone in his career.
Dr. VanderLinde is serving on the Garrison Dental Advisory Board. He is also staying current by taking continuing education classes which have included: Medical Considerations for the Dental Patient and Medical Emergencies in the dental office.
Dr. VanderLinde attended the FDI 2013 World Dental Congress in Istanbul Turkey this fall and really enjoyed meeting other Dentists from all over the world.
The entire team attended the American Dental Association meeting in New Orleans for educational classes, product updates and some team building fun.
